  2. Install Windows On Mac Without Bootcamp

Many Mac users are still unaware that you can install Windows 10 on Mac for free from Microsoft perfectly legally. Microsoft doesn't actually require users to activate Windows 10 with a product key unless you want to customize the look of it.

I have a Mac Book Pro on which I have dual booted Windows 7 using bootcamp. The Win 7 copy is activated and is genuine. I got 'Eligible for upgrade' notice. When installing Windows 10, I downloaded Windows 10 on a USB drive, booted from it and performed a clean install of Windows 10. The install went smoothly and all is well. When Mac boots from the bootable Windows 10 USB, wait about 30 seconds and Windows installation wizard appears. At this time, the window is much small because graphics driver are not installed yet. Now, you have to follow the screen prompt to choose language, region and most importantly the partition to install Windows OS files.

So basically, I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO file and installed it using bootcamp. During the install, I accidentally formatted the Mac OS partition and replaced it with the Windows one. I am now trying to reinstall Mac OS using the internet recovery feature. I have partitioned a new D: drive named OSX, and there is no data on the drive. I then click on reinstall Mac OS. I try to select the OSX disk I have partitioned but it says that the disk is locked. Does anybody know how to unlock the disk or do I need to do something else?

Thanks so much,
